Jayne & Alex – St Begas, BassenthwaiteLingholm Estate, Keswick

This wedding was just beautiful in every single way. Everything was just perfect. Jayne and Alex planned their wedding day to be in The Lake District from two different points in the UK whilst they were living apart due to work commitments. To create and plan a day like this when you live nowhere near here was completely admirable. The attention to detail that was put into all aspects of the day would put Pinterest boards to shame and if Jayne wasn’t dedicated to her chosen career, she would definitely make one of the best wedding planners out there.

The wedding morning and reception was held at Lingholm Estate on Derwentwater in Keswick. Derwentwater is one of our favourites places to go so when we initially had this inquiry through we really couldn’t wait to cover this day. Jayne and Alex were married in St Begas church in Bassenthwaite, a tiny church on the lakeside surrounded by mountains. Perfect. The church was filled front to back with their guests and although we couldn’t witness their marriage from the front it didn’t matter. The atmosphere was so special and that was consistent throughout the whole day.

After the ceremony we took a few minutes to do some portraits at the lakeside before heading to meet their guests at Keswick launch. It was freezing and it was super windy but it was just beautiful to spend time with these two after they had just got married. We met the guests at the boat launch and headed back to Lingholm Estate via boat.

The reception at Lingholm was outstanding, Jayne and Alex really filled the room with personal touches from polaroids to vintage books. Beautiful flowers and balloons added more detail alongside the gold woodland animals. The favours were a hand painted (by Jayne) candle and a jar of ‘Kronensauce’, homemade BBQ sauce by Alex. Table settings were finished with gold glittered feathers and the name places were pears with hand written names on the leaf. Words fail this wedding and we can only hope the pictures we captured gives a sense of just how much heart and soul went into this fairytale of a day.

The hardest thing was selecting images for this post as there was so many to choose from. It’s a big one, so grab a brew. It might not be the full story (thats 1700+ images) but these are our favourites. Massive love and thanks to Jayne and Alex for having us capture their day.
